Ignored files are left out of the changed-file list and the diff Otto reviews. Otto can still read them for context, for example to check how a generated type is used.
otto.yml
Ignored files also:
  • Don’t count toward the 100-file limit for automatic reviews, so ignoring generated code can bring a large PR back under it.
  • Don’t count when Otto picks the review depth or decides which path instructions apply.
Globs match the full path from the repository root. Use **/ to match at any depth. See Globs.

Default ignores

Once a repository has an otto.yml, Otto also ignores this built-in list unless you set default_ignores: false. Each pattern matches at any depth.
Without an otto.yml, Otto ignores nothing. Committing an otto.yml with only version: 1 turns on the default ignores.

Turning the defaults off

Set default_ignores: false if your repository keeps source code in one of these places, for example a build/ directory of build scripts or a Go vendor/ directory you want reviewed:
otto.yml
The defaults are all or nothing: to keep some of them, turn them off and list the ones you want in ignore.
